Gigabyte Gaming A16 Review – RTX 4050 vs 4060 Models
In this video, Just Josh reviews the Gigabyte Gaming A16, a thin and light 16-inch gaming laptop that has gained attention for offering dedicated RTX graphics at an affordable price. The RTX 4050 model launched at just $739, making it one of the cheapest gaming laptops in its category. Josh compares both the RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 versions to see if the deal is too good to be true.
According to Just Josh, the RTX 4050 version is excellent value under $800, while the RTX 4060 version is disappointing and not worth the extra money. He highlights sluggish CPU behavior, poor color accuracy, awkward port placement, and even cases where the RTX 4060 underperforms compared to the cheaper RTX 4050.
Thermals were another weakness, with both models running hot during gameplay. The 4050 unit reached 47°C on the keyboard deck, while the 4060 peaked at 45°C. Fan noise is loud but normal for budget gaming laptops. Battery life is long but throttled so heavily that gaming on battery is “practically unusable.”
